Once again the wonderful essay The Morning of the Magicians by Pauwels and Bergier comes into play. Just one mention of a strange fact was enough to make me jot down another idea for a story. I later found that passage, but it gave little information: it spoke of Dr. Anthony Laughton, of underwater photographs taken off the coast of Ireland and of footprints on the seabed. So the research began: I had no idea what to write, but the documentation came to my aid. I found some information on Sir Anthony Seymour Laughton, two interviews conducted recently and a site that talked about those footsteps.
Then in the essay there was a definition given by Pauwels that I liked: the abominable man of the seas. To be included in the story. The notes taken were quite disorganized and heterogeneous: how could we combine them into a story? So I decided to write a story different from the usual ones: a premise, an old device of the narrator who finds documents on Phone Number Data unusual facts; the interview, invented by me but with some grain of truth; a chapter on depth photography introduced by Laughton: which becomes a fictionalized account of a true story; a chapter on the abominable man of the seas: a story in itself, but connected to the others; a piece of news, invented, taken from a newspaper, which is linked to the facts; a historical fact, about the 2nd World War, on the same facts; an epilogue and an author's note.
I had all the elements to write the story. I created titles and inserted captions for each one, to give a personal touch to the story. The Stranger from the

The first step to take, for a fantasy writer, is to set out in search of that treasure and take possession of it.
